The Field Museum ranks among the world’s foremost museums of natural sciences. Established in 1893, it houses more than 9 acres of exhibits consisting of world-renowned collections of more than 19 million artifacts and specimens.

Lincoln Park Zoo houses more than 1,000 mammals, birds and reptiles, including endangered species, from almost every part of the world. Major exhibits include the Large Mammal Area, the Antelope and Zebra Area, the Penguin Seabird House, the McCormick Bird House, the Kovler Lion House and the Helen Brach Primate House. Other notable features include the Children’s Zoo and Zoo Nursery; the Sea Lion Pool; and the Farm-in-the-Zoo, a 5-acre replica of a working Illinois farm.
John G. Shedd Aquarium exhibits more than 8,000 freshwater and marine animals representing more than 650 species in approximately 200 naturalistic settings. The Oceanarium is said to be the largest indoor mammal marine pavilion in the world and contains Beluga whales, and Pacific White-sided dolphins. From awe-inspiring whales, frolicking sea otters and lively penguins to streamlined sharks and exotic eels, Shedd Aquarium is home to a myriad of fascinating, colorful aquatic animals.

Museum of Broadcast Communications Contains a vast library of historic television and radio programs and commercials as well as a Radio Hall of Fame. The MBC Kraft Television Center offers visitors the opportunity to anchor a newscast and purchase videotape of the show. Vintage televisions and radios are on display, as are the puppets from Edgar Bergen’s “The Charlie McCarthy Show”.

Museum of Science and Industry The museum is a reconstruction of the Palace of Fine Arts from the 1893 Columbian Exposition. It contains exhibits of applied sciences, engineering and industry in 75 major exhibition halls spanning 15 acres.

Henry Crown Space Center and Omnimax Theatre The theater shows 70-millimeter films on a 76-foot-diameter aluminum paneled screen that is 5-stories high. More than 70 speakers behind the screen enable sound to emanate from the section of the screen on which film action occurs.

Sears Tower Skydeck is the USA’s tallest building! You’ll see the best view and best overview of Chicago. At 1353 feet, the Skydeck is the highest observatory in Chicago. The view is amazing! You can see 40-50 miles on a clear day. Imagine seeing Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin, just by walking around the Skydeck.

Six Flags Great America This 300-acre park features twelve world class roller coasters, four water rides, restaurants, shops, theaters and original show productions. Highlights include Superman Ultimate Flight, Batman the Ride, Space Shuttle America and Viper, and Hurricane Harbor (a Carribean-themed waterpark next door with 25 major waterslides and wave pool).
