Georgia State Tour

History of Georgia State Tour

From the coastal regions to the plains to the mountains, Georgia has plenty to offer the student traveler in search of learning opportunities. Each year, a middle school teacher from the state of Georgia takes her class on a tour around the state, to reinforce their studies of Georgia history.

Student tour groups visit sites like Milledgeville, the first capital of the state of Georgia, and Andersonville Prison, where Civil War prisoners were held. The student travel group also travels to Atlanta for a visit to CNN Studios, and the Bremen Jewish Heritage and Holocaust Museum. If there's time, groups can also opt to spend two days and one night in Savannah to further understand Georgia's Native American population, colonial settlement, and Civil War history.

Take a class trip based on a historical tour of the state of Georgia. From coastal Georgia to Atlanta and Chattanooga, Georgia has a fascinating history.
